Annie Mae McMillan Williams

Annie Mae McMillan Williams,affectionately known as "Mother" was born September 23, 1921 to the late Delia Johnson and James McMillan, Sr. She departed this earthly life November 23, 2009 and entered eternal rest in glory.

 

She was a faithful and devoted member of Mt. Sinai for over fifty years. She served in the capacity of Deaconess and sang on the Gospel Choir until health failed.

She had a very determined spirit. Her dream and determination was to receive her diploma, which she received in 1979 from the public schools of Lee County. She was a great homemaker, seamstress, and she loved her family. She was married to the late Willie James and to this union was born Willie Mae Cato of Eastover, SC and the late Sadie Woody of Philadelphia, PA. She later married Willie Williams and to this union was born seven children.

She leaves to cherish her memories, Johnny Williams, Isaac Williams, Rebecca (Albertus) Eaddy, Ella Mae (Ozier) Sumter, Delia Pringle, and Sydney Williams of the home; two grandsons she reared as her own, Leonard James of Mayesville, SC, and Melvin James of Philadelphia, PA; one adopted daughter, Geneva Watkins; one son-in-law, Elijah Wells; two brothers, Henry (Elaine) McMillan of Sumter, SC, and Johnny McMillan of Mayesville, SC; two sisters, Rosa Lee Jones of Snowhill, MD, and Pastor Ruth Moses of Mayesville, SC; three sisters-in-law, Carrie Lou McMillan, Mozell Fortune, and Betsy Lee Williams; two brothers-in-law, James Williams and Dilly Williams; thirty-six grandchildren; eighty-six great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

 

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Sadie James Woody and Geneva Williams Wells; five brothers, James, Leroy, Thomas, John Wesley, and Will McMillan; two sisters, Janie Myers and Catherine Moore; and two sons-in-law, James Cato and James Pringle.

 

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p. m., Friday, November 27, 2009 from the Mt. Sinai Presbyterian Church USA, 97 Mt. Sinai Church Road, Mayesville, SC, with the Dr. Franklin D. Colclough, officiating and Rev. Boutte, pastor, eulogist.

 

The family will receive friends at the family home 84 Bethune Park Drive, Mayesville.

The Remains will be placed in the church at 1:00 p. m.

The Funeral procession will leave from the family home at 1:25 p. m.

Floral bearers will be granddaughters and nieces.

Pallbearers will be the grandsons.

Burial will be in the Mt. Sinai Presbyterian Church Yard Cemetery, St. Charles.
