Gladys Isaac Solomon, 85,daughter of the late Joseph Isaac and Postuma (Davis) Isaac, was born February 2, 1924 in Lee County, South Carolina. She departed this earthly life on Monday, November 23, 2009 at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Solomon accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and attended Mount Sinai where she was a faithful and loyal member until she was called into eternal rest. Her kind-hearted and free spirit inspired her to lift anyone’s spirit with her special gift of jokes and laughter. She loved life and enhancing the lives of others any way she could.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Jessie Solomon, Jr. and Johnny Solomon.
She leaves to celebrate her life: her husband, Jessie Solomon; three daughters, Shirley (Bobby) Andrews, Sara Ann (late Roosevelt) Andrews both of Baltimore, Maryland, and Mary (Timothy) Major of Rembert, SC; one son, Leroy (Cynthia) Solomon of Columbia, SC; one sister, Willien Pringle of Brooklyn, NY; three brothers, Leroy Isaac of Bishopville, SC, James Isaac and Russell Isaac both of New Jersey; twenty-seven grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous loving friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 28, 2009 at Lee Central High School with Pastor Renaldo Turner presiding and eulogist.
The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Mary Frances Major, 4050 Ollie Drive, Rembert.
The Remains will be placed in the school at 1:00 p.m.
The procession will leave the home of her daughter at 1:20 p.m.
Burial will be in the Mt. Sinai Presbyterian Church Cemetery, St. Charles.
