On the early morning of Tuesday, February 28, 2017, God saw fit to call another one of his precious angel home, Olia Mae Jenkins Dixon. Born April 26, 1927, in Lee County, she was the daughter of the late Carola Jenkins and Willie Belton. She was married to the late James Dixon, Sr. She attended the public schools of Lee County. At an early age, she joined Mechanicsville United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Gospel. She leaves to cherish her precious memory and celebrate her life: four daughters, Susan (Leroy) Sumpter of Brooklyn, NY, Hallie (William) Robinson, Barbara (Bobby) Simon of Dalzell, Mary (John) Hawley of Raleigh, NC; six sons, Frank (Joyce) Belton of Patterson, NJ, George Jenkins of Westbury, NY, Charles Dixon, Jimmy (Niecy) Dixon, Ivory Dixon, and Kirvan Dixon, of Dalzell; one sister, Martha Vaughn of Sumter; one brother, George Herbert (Irene) Melton of Sumter; five sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Homegoing celebration will be held Tuesday, March 7, 2017, 11:00 a. m., from the Mechanicsville United Methodist Church, 184 Lake Ashwood Road, Sumter, with the Rev. Ronnie Jeffcoat, pastor, eulogist. The family is receiving family and friends at the home, 3175 Charles Jackson Street, Sumter. The Remains will be place in the church at 10:00 a. m. The procession will leave from the home at 10:20 a. m. Floral bearers and Pall bearers will be family and friends. Burial will be in the Jenkins Family Cemetery, 3060 Rembert Church Road, Dalzell.
