Mary Lee Singleton Livingston, 75, affectionately called “Mamie”, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 in the comfort of her home. Born June 14, 1941, in Sumter County, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Francis Johnson Singleton. Mary was educated in the public schools of Sumter County. She was formerly employed with Sumter School District #2, where she provided 32 years of service before retiring. Mary was a faithful member of High Hills AME Church, where she served in many capacities until her health declined. She leaves to cherish a life well spent: two daughters, Frances Wilson of Sumter and Stephanie Livingston of Ocean Side, CA; two sons, Jeremiah Livingston of Columbia and Charlie (Angela) Livingston of Sumter; three sisters, Thomasina Singleton of Sumter, Cleo (Timothy) Dawson and Rose Durant of Dalzell; two brothers, Harry (Corolla) Singleton and Henry Singleton of Sumter; one adopted brother, Joe Logan of Harrisburg, PA; two sisters-in-law, Geneva and Louise Singleton of Sumter; fifteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; a special friend, Harry McLeod of Sumter; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Homegoing services will be held Wednesday, May 10, 2017, 2:00 p. m., from the High Hills A. M. E. Church, 6780 Meeting House Road, Rembert, with the Rev. Keith R. Mayes, pastor, officiating. The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home, 916 Furman Drive, Sumter. The Remains will be placed in the church at 1:00 p. m. The procession will leave from the home at 1:20 p. m. Burial will be in the High Hills A. M. E. Church Yard Cemetery.
