Mason B. Francis, 91, transitioned from earth to heaven on Thursday, August 10, 2017, at Palmetto Health Tuomey Hospital, Sumter. Born March 5, 1926, in Sumter County, he was the son of the late Henry Travis and Lillian Williams Francis. He was married to the late Edith A. Francis. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1944 and received an Honorable Discharge in 1946. He joined the Kingsbury Road Church of Christ, where he was a faithful servant until his health declined. He is survived by: five sons, Ed (Sarah) Tomlin of Alcolu, Larry Francis, Roland Francis, Barry Francis and Michael Francis of Baltimore, MD; two daughters, Nancy Francis and Masonia Francis Wilson (Mike) of Baltimore, MD; grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Matilda F. Green; one brother-in-law, Bernie Pringle, Sr. of Sumter; a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Homegoing celebration will be held Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 11 a. m. from the Kingsbury Road Church of Christ, 215 Kingsbury Drive, Sumter, with Minister Melvin Sapp, Pastor, Eulogist. The family will received relatives and friends at the home of his niece, Beverly Pringle Baker, 10 Emily Drive, Sumter. Visitation will be Wednesday, 5 6 pm, from the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel, Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter. The procession will leave 10:30 a. m. from the home of his niece. Burial will be in the Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, Owings Mill, Maryland
