Eloise McQuillia Maple, 79, departed this earthly life on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at her home. Born December 8, 1937, in Sumter County, she was the daughter of the late George and Eloise Frierson McQuillia. She received her education in the public schools of Sumter County. She was employed at Campbell Soup Company for 25 or more years until it became Gold Kist when she then retired. She began her spiritual journey with the Lord while attending Trinity Missionary Baptist Church and later moved her membership to New Fellowship Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful member until her timely death. Wonderful memories will be cherished by: her son, Joseph (Joanne) Maple III of Stafford, VA; three daughters, Barbara A. (Marion) Price, Gearldine (Anthony) Furman, and Suzzette Teresa Maple, all of Sumter; six grandchildren; two sisters, Viola McGee of Dalzell, Annie Mae Davis of Sumter; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Homegoing Celebration will be held Saturday, September 2, 2017, 11 a. m. from the New Fellowship Baptist Church, 105 South Purdy Street, Sumter , with the Rev. Dale Edwards, pastor, eulogist. The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home, 905 Jenson Road, Sumter. The Remains will be placed in the church at 10 a. m. The procession will leave at 10:20 a. m. from the home. Burial will be in the Hillside Memorial Park, 3001 Cainís Mill Road, Sumter.
