Marion Carolina Diggs, 65,entered eternal life on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital, Columbia.


Born September 15, 1944, in Sumter County, he was a son of the late Blease Dinkins and Ida Mae Diggs. He was educated in the public schools of Sumter County.

He was employed with Dennis Construction until he retired. He was a kind and loving person to all who knew him.

He leaves to cherish his memories: two children, Sherlie (Gregory) Murphy of Rembert and Marion M. Pringle of Sumter; two grand children, Chantavia and JeVontae Washington, both of Camden; one special great grand daughter, Jesiya Bennett-Bolden; three sisters, Evelyn Sanders, Bertha Dinkions, both of Rembert and Susie Kemp of Winter Garden, FLA; three children he reared as his own, Wanda and Willie Pringle, both of Sumter, and Jessie Pringle of Bennettsville; a special friend of many years, Mary Branch of Wedgefield. and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Blease Dinkins; his mother, Ida Mae Diggs; a brother, Vernon Diggs, Sr., and a step son, Michael Pringle.


Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 24, 2010 from the Rafting Creek Baptist Church, Highway 261 North, Rembert, with Rev. Melvin Mack, pastor, eulogist.


The family will receive friends at the home of his daughter, Sherlie Murphy 5714 T B Wright Road, Rembert.

The remains will be placed in the church at 2:00 p. m.

The procession will leave the home at 2:30 p.m.

Floral Bearers will be nieces and friends of the family.

Pall Bearers will be nephews.

Burial will be in the Rafting Creek Baptist Church Yard Cemetery, Rembert.
