Helen Davis, 70, was called home to rest on Monday, February 15, 2010 at Tuomey Health Care System, Sumter.
Born November 10, 1939, in Ashville, N. C., she was the daughter of the late Haze and Jane Davis McGett. She later relocated to Sumter where she attended the public schools of Sumter County.
Helen and Harold were blessed with eight children. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church. Helen was employed with White’s Battery and Electric Company for more than 25 years.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: three sons, Richard (Valerie) Davis of Jacksonville, NC, Al Davis and Harry Lee Davis, both of Sumter; four daughters, Cynthia Davis, Gloria (Bobby) Bradley, Shelia M. Davis, and Cornthia (Tyrone) Fullard, all of Sumter; one sister, Betty Guillyard; seventeen grandchildren; twenty one great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one son, Joseph; four sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p. m., Friday, February 19, 2010 from the Salem Baptist Church, 320 West Fulton Street, Sumter with Rev. Lei Ferguson Knight, pastor, eulogist, assisted by Rev. D. Washington.
The family will received friends at the home 1228 Mooneyham Road, Sumter.
The Remains will be placed in the church at 2:00 p. m.
The funeral procession will leave from the home at 2:30 p. m.
Floral Bearers and Pall Bearers will be family and friends.
Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park, Sumter.
