Francis Earl "Kuda" Drayton, 39, was called home by God to rest on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Tuomey Health Care System, Sumter.
Born in Sumter County on June 13, 1970, he was a son of James Drayton, Sr. and the late Inez Porcher Drayton. He attended the public schools of Sumter County and graduated from Sumter High School, Class of 1989. He was a member of New Birth Holiness Church, where he attended Sunday School and Morning Worship Service.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories: his father, James Drayton, Sr. of the home; seven brothers, Elder James (Rosamary), Albertus (Renae), Leotis, Tyrone (Katrena), and Stacey, all of Sumter, Curtis of New Jersey, Michael (Kenyatta) of North Carolina; five sisters, Evangelist Linda (Daryl) Brooks, Mary Edwards, Beatrice (Willie) Charles, Geneva (Johnny) Lacosta, and Tracey, all of Sumter; a brother-in-law, Matthew Jones; one uncle, Richard (Rebecca) Porcher; two aunts, Minnie Lee Drayton, all of Sumter, Mary (Marion) Carter of Palmetto, FLA; a special friend, Jarvis McCray; host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Inez Porcher Drayton; and two sisters, Marie Drayton Jones and Patricia Drayton Vazquez.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 23, 2010 from the New Birth Holiness Church, 42 Larkin Street, Sumter, with Bishop Nathan Amos, pastor, eulogist, assisted by Minister Richard Dukes, Elder Jerry McCall, Elder Clarence McCall, Elder Harrell Benjamin, Evangelist Kelly and Minister Gloria Benjamin.
The family will receive friends at the family home 204 Armstrong Boulevard, Sumter. The procession will leave the family home at 1:30 p. m.
Flowers bearers and Pall bearers will be friends and family.
Burial will be in the Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church Yard Cemetery, St. Charles.
