Constance Carmilla "Cherry" Dinkins, 82, widow of Allen Dinkins, Sr., departed this earthly life on Friday, March 26, 2010, in Louisville, Kentucky. Born October 28, 1927, in Belize City, Belize, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Elda Ferrel Canto.

She was loved, cherished and will be greatly missed by her children, Allen Dinkins, Jr. (Jeane), Anthony Dinkins (Dorothy), Glen Dinkins (Josh), Steve Dinkins (Mary), Kenneth Dinkins, Brenda Allen (Donnie) and Sharon Taylor; one brother, Ernesto Canto; her grandchildren, Fallen, Allen III, Allisha, Alden, D. J., Brian, Jasmine, and Ylana; her in-laws, Rena Stuckey, Rebecca Woolridge, Henson Dinkins, Rev. Lee Dingle, and JoAnn Dinkins; a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a daughter, Patricia Cornilla Dinkins.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p. m., Thursday, April 1, 2010 from the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, 7355 Camden Highway (Highway 521 North), Rembert with Rev. Anthony Taylor, pastor, eulogist.


The family will receive friends at the home of Rev. Lee Dingle, 595 West Emerald Lake Drive, Sumter.

The Remains will be placed in the church at 12:00 noon.

The funeral procession will leave from the home of Rev. Lee Dingle at 12:20 p. m.

Flower bearers will be friends of the family.

Pall bearers will be Allen Dinkins, Anthony Dinkins, Glen Dinkins, Steve Dinkins, Earnest Dinkins, and Allen Dinkins III.

Honorary Pall bearers will be Henson Dinkins, Kevin Dingle, and Edward Loyd.

Burial will be in the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Yard Cemetery, Rembert.
