Harrison "Smokey" Bolden, Sr., 72, husband of Dorothy Sanders Bolden, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at Tuomey Regional Medical Center, Sumter.
Born September 4, 1937, in Sumter County, he was the son of the late Theola Alston and raised by the late Tom and Carrie Bolden.
At an early age, he accepted Christ and became a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. He was educated in the public schools of Sumter County, and later joined the United States Army.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his wife, Dorothy; two sons, Harrison (Doretha) of Wedgefield and Gregory of Pensacola, FLA; three daughters, Katie of Sumter, Constance (Calvin) and Valarie (Willie), both of Rembert; one sister, Elizabeth (Al) Goode of Plainfield, N. J.; four sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Willie Alston.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 p. m., Sunday, April 18, 2010 from the Hopewell Baptist Church 3285 Peach Orchard Road (Highway 441), Dalzell, with Rev. Richard Addison, pastor, eulogist.
The family will received friends at the family home 6035 Camden Highway, Rembert.
The Remains will be placed in the church at 1:30 p. m.
The funeral procession will leave from the family home at 1:50 p. m.
Floral Bearers and Pall Bearers will be Family and Friends.
Burial will be in the Hopewell Baptist Church Yard Cemetery, Dalzell.
