Thomas Jackson, 68, passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2010 at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center, New Brunswick, N. J.
Born December 26, 1941, in Sumter County, he was the son of the late Sam Jackson and Katie Spain Jackson.
Thomas lived in Piscataway, N. J. the past 24 years, formerly of Irvington, N. J. He was a member of the St. Francis Episcopal Church in Dunellen for 22 years. He was also a member of the Irvington Lions Club.
Mr. Jackson was employed as an analytical chemist for 30 years working at American Cyanamid, Johnson and Johnson and Dwight Church Corp. Also he was an EMT for the Irving and Piscataway Rescue Squads.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his sister, Marie Pinckney; a niece, Monique Gray; his nephews, Marion, Michael and Matthew Pinckney; seven grand nieces and nephews; a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p. m., Saturday, May 22, 2010 from the St. Luke A. M. E. Church, St. Paul Church Road, Sumter, with Rev. Robert Hooper, Pastor, eulogist.
The Remains will be placed in the church at noon.
The funeral procession will leave from Williams Funeral Home, 821 North Main Street, Sumter at 12:30 p. m.
Floral bearers and pall bearers will be family and friends.
Burial will be in the St. Luke A. M. E. Church Yard Cemetery, Sumter.
