God sent his angels to take our beloved Isaac Willie Bolden, Jr., 69, home to Heaven on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at his home, 1150 South Pike West Apt 503, Sumter.
Born in Sumter County on August 26, 1940, he was a son of the late Isaac Bolden, Sr. and Annie Dinkins Bolden. He was raised by his parents in a loving Christian home. Isaac accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age.
“Slick”, “Daddy Rabbit”, and “Boo”, as he was affectionately known, was educated in the public schools of Lee County. He was employed by C. B. Player as an agriculture technician for 30 years until his illness. Mr. Bolden was a member of Fellowship Outreach Ministry of Sumter under the spiritual leadership of Pastor Virnetta J. Bennett.
Isaac was lovingly joined with Essie Plowden for 43 years. This union was blessed with five children:
Isaac “Troy” Bolden III (Margie), Patricia Ortiz (Victor), Jackie F. Bolden, Annette Coard (Bobby) and Qulondia Bolden.
He also leaves to cherish his memory his loving family: a daughter raised by him, Delphine Hudson Crosby (Michael); two daughters that were born prior to this union, Lori Ann Bolden and Millie Ann Reames Dixon; his siblings, Elder Joseph Bolden (Glendell), Mary Ann Kennedy and Sarah L. Bolden; children raised in the home as siblings, Vermell Lewis (Wilbur), Edward Bolden, Jr. (Patricia), Ruth Ann Dinkins (Lawrence) and Pastor Willie Marion Bolden (Georgianna); his surviving aunts, Eleanor Baldwin of Charlotte, NC and Lillian Williams of Philadelphia, PA; his grandchildren, the apples of his eyes, Latesha, Qulonda, Deiante, Tenisha, Dontrell, Sarah, Brandon, Jasmine, Indigo, Kanija, Jaquan, Jashawn, Jamari, Jamaya; five great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his maternal grandparents, Eugene and Sarah Harris Dinkins; his paternal grandparents, Scrimmager and Cammiler Bolden; and a sister, Annie Mae “Mickey” Bolden.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p. m., Thursday, June 3, 2010 from the West End Community Church, 101 South Salem Street, Sumter, with Apostle Virnetta J. Bennett, officiating, eulogist, assisted by Pastor Willie M. Bolden, Pastor Frances Washington and Rev. Joshua Dupree.
The family will receive friends at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Bobby and Annette Coard, 1607 Ruger Drive, Sumter.
The Remains will be placed in the church at 12:00 noon.
The funeral procession will leave from the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Bobby and Annette Coard at 12:20 p. m.
Floral bearers and Pall bearers will be family and friends.
Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park, Sumter.
