Verline “Ada” Muldrow, 83, wife of David Muldrow, departed this earthly life on Monday, July 12, 2010 at her home. Born in Sumter County on May 10, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Philmon McFadden and Pauline Windham McFadden.
She attended the public schools of Sumter County. At an early age she joined Joshua Baptist Church, where she served faithfully as a member of the senior choir, usher board and senior missionary.
Verline was united in marriage to David Muldrow on December 9, 1944. To this union eight children were born.
She leaves to cherish her life memories: her devoted and loving husband, David Muldrow; four daughters, Frances Hudson, Everleana (Isaac) Champagne, Rosa McDuffie, all of Sumter, Alma (Charlie) Peterson of Wilmington, N. C.; one son, David Muldrow, Jr. of Sumter; 17 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; five sisters, Maggie (Hampton) McMillian of Sumter, Emma Capers, Shirley McFadden, Gloria Peeles, and Annette Abrams, all of Hillside, N. J.; one brother, George McFadden of Newark, N. J.; two grandchildren reared in the home, Dennis Muldrow and Michelle Davis; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by seven siblings; three sons; one granddaughter, and one great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 p. m., Sunday, July 18, 2010 from the Joshua Baptist Church, 5200 Live Oak Road, Dalzell, with Rev. Eugene Dennis, pastor, eulogist, Rev. Dorothy Maple, presiding, assisted by Rev. William Jefferson, Rev. Jeanette Jenkins, and Rev. R. L. Williams.
The family will receive friends at her home, 71 James Street, Sumter.
The Remains will be placed in the church at 1:30 p. m.
The funeral procession will leave from her home at 1:45 p. m.
Floral bearers will be granddaughters.
Pall bearers will be family and friends.
Burial will be in the Joshua Baptist Church Yard Cemetery, Dalzell.
