Marion Wade, Jr.

Marion “Bo Cat” Wade, Jr., 67, companion of Katie Gardner Conyers, departed this earthly life on  Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at Tuomey Regional Medical Center, Sumter.  Born in Sumter County on August 17, 1942,  he was a son of the late Marion Wade, Sr. and Edna Louise Bolden Wade. 

At an early age he accepted Jesus as his Savior and became a member of  Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.  He later joined Mt. Bethel Baptist Church.

Marion was employed with the South Carolina Highway Department of Camden for many years.

He leaves to cherish his memory:  his companion, Katie Gardner Conyers; one step son, Van Conyers; five sisters, Minnie (Sammie) Alston, Helen Jenkins, Corine (Julious) Funcherss, Meta (Bobby) Finch and Juanita Boone; two brothers, James Wade and Marvin Wade;  four aunts, Martha E. Wright, Annie Mae Williams, Myrteen (Ernest) King, and Mary (Jake) Moore; two uncles, Horace (Albertha) Wade and Simon Wade; two sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen Frierson and Rosa Lee Goble; five grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren;   a host of other relatives and friends.

 

Funeral services will be  held   3:00 p. m.,  Thursday,  August 12, 2010  from the  Mt. Bethel Baptist Church,  Highway 521 North,  Rembert, with  Rev. Freddie Thomas, pastor,  eulogist, assisted by Elder Richard Duke.

The family will receive friends at the home 5291 Dais Road, Rembert.

The Remains will be placed in the Church at 2:00 p. m.

The funeral procession will leave from the home at 2:30 p. m.

Floral Bearers will be ushers.

Pall Bearers will be friends and family.

Burial will be in the Mt. Bethel Baptist Church Yard Cemetery, Rembert.
