Robert Lewis Tisdale, 47, husband of Sylvia Ford Tisdale, departed this earthly life on Sunday, August 8, 2010 at Tuomey Regional Medical, Sumter. Born in Sumter County on May 5, 1963, he was a son of Mary Hinnant and the late Clyde Nathaniel.
Robert was a fun loving man of God who loved to make everyone laugh. He was employed by Carolina Filters. He was a faithful member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, where he sang on the Sanctuary Choir, the Men’s Choir and was a member of the Men’s Ministry (BMW). He was also an on call plumber for the church.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories: a faithful and loving wife, Sylvia Ford Tisdale; his mother, Mary Hinnant; five daughters, Marlana Woods, Raessha Tisdale, LaFonda Jefferson, Michelle Cobia, Yolanda Cobia and Cynthia Cobia; two sons, Robert Tisdale, Jr. and Larry Brunson III, all of Sumter; fourteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three special uncles; two special aunts; eight brothers-in-law; ten sisters-in-law; one god son, Arkeem Singleton; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Nathaniel, and his grandmother, Nora Lee Tisdale.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p. m., Friday, August 13, 2010 from the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, 14 Brand Street, Sumter, with Reverend Larry W. Barnes, pastor, eulogist, assisted by Co-Pastor, Evangelene G. Barnes, Minister Angela Edwards, Minister Daisy Pringle, Evangelist Sharon Bryant and Rev. Eugene Winn.
The family will receive friend at the home 1232 Moneyham Road, Sumter.
The remains will be placed in the church at 2:00 p. m.
The funeral procession will leave the home at 2:15 p. m.
Floral bearers will be friends and classmates.
Pall bearers will be Bethlehem Men’s Ministry and Mr. Mike Jeter.
Burial will be in the Bradford Cemetery, Sumter.
