Franklin Lee McCain

Franklin Lee McCain, 45,   departed this earthly life on  Sunday,  October 17, 2010   at Tuomey Regional Medical Center, Sumter. 

Born in Sumter County  on  March 24, 1965, he was a son of Clyde McCain, Sr. and Evelena Anthony McCain.  

“Baby Boy”, as was known by his family, was educated in the public schools of Sumter County and Sumter High School.  He also attended Sumter Technical College, where he received his Certification in Welding.  He was employed by EnerSys  as a Seam Welder for more then ten years prior to his death.

“Frankie”, as he was also affectionately called, was a member of Shepherd United Methodist Church and was a strong believer in Christ.  He would often refer to the phrase “Just Pray About It”.  He loved his family and was kind spirited with a charming smile.  Frankie was gifted, very talented and enjoyed playing the guitar.  He loved music.  He was Lead Guitarist for The Miracle’s of Joy, Spiritual Caravan and Stage 3.  We will miss him dearly and look forward to the day when we all shall be together in Christ.

He is survived by his father, Clyde McCain, Sr.;  his mother, Evelena Anthony McCain;  his wife, Michelle Jefferson McCain; six brothers, Steve (Ella) McCain, James (Rachelle) McCain, Leon (Annette) Anthony,  Ray (Angela) McCain,  Clyde (Ann) McCain,  Bobby Anthony;  one sister, Evelyn McCain;  one aunt, Rosa Lee Anthony;  four sons, Nigel, Keenan, Frank Jr., Isaiah;  one daughter, Alicia;  a special friend, Jennifer;  and a host of nieces,  nephews, cousins and friends. 

He was preceded in death by  his  a brother, W. J. Anthony;  his grandmother, Sylvia Anthony; two aunts and three uncles.

Funeral  services  will  be  held 1:00 P. M.,   Saturday,  October 23, 2010  from   the Shepherd United Methodist Church,  2210 North Main Street,  Sumter,  with Reverend Barbara L. Reid,  pastor,  eulogist, assisted by Rev. Irene D. Anthony.

The family will receive friends at the family home  424 North Salem Street, Sumter.

The Remains will be placed in the church for viewing at 12:00 noon until time of the service.

The funeral procession will leave from the family home at 12:20  P. M.

Floral Bearers will be friends of the  family.

Pall Bearers will be cousins and friends.

Interment will be in the White’s Cemetery, Airport Road, Sumter.
