John Levi Mack, 50, husband of Ivy Ellerbe Mack,   departed this earthly life on  Monday, March 14, 2011, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center, Sumter.  Born November 3, 1960 in Sumter County, he was the son of Lourene Glover Mack and the late Roosevelt Mack, Sr.

At an early age he attended church with his family.  He was educated in the public schools of Sumter County  and a graduate of Hillcrest High School.  He attended the Job Corps and was employed with Gold Kist, Inc. for 25 years.

He leaves to cherish his memories;  his wife, Ivy Ellerbe Mack of the home; four sons, Justin Mack, Shawn Mack, Bryan Bolden and Jerell Mack, all of Dalzell; three daughters, Shi-Lynn Mack, Santana Bolden of Dalzell,  Javonne Ham (Tari) of Charlotte, NC;  seven grandchildren; his mother, Lourene Mack of Dalzell; his father-in-law,  Frank Ellerbe and mother-in-law, Josephine Ellerbe, both of Dalzell; two brothers, Roosevelt Mack, Jr. (Sent) of New York and Robert Lee Jenkins of Dalzell;  five sisters, Mary Ann Murray (Donald) of Washington, D. C.,  Mae Frances Myers (Seymore),  Rosa Lee Mayrant (Willie),  Shirley Durant (Larry) of Dalzell, Teresa Mack of Sumter; three uncles, Horace Glover of Dalzell,  Clifton Mack and James Glover of Philadelphia; four aunts, Azalee Williams of Philadelphia, PA, Estelle  Mack and Carolyn Green (Frank) of Dalzell,  Harriett Glover of Sumter;  six brothers-in-law, Filton Mayrant (Sharon), Franklin Ellerbe (Melanie) of Columbia,  Oliver Ellerbe (Pat) of Camden, Christopher Ellerbe of Charlotte, N. C., James Ellerbe,  Timothy Ellerbe of New York,  Ricky Ellerbe of Charleston;  four sisters-in-law,  Angie Ellerbe (Charles) of Charlotte, N. C., Joyce,  Victoria and Veronica Ellerbe, all of Dalzell; a special cousin, Catherine Council;    a host of   nieces, nephews,  other relatives and friends.

.Funeral  services will be  held 3:30 p. m.,  Saturday,  March 19, 2011  from  the   John Wesley Williams, Sr. Memorial Chapel,  Williams Funeral Home, Inc. 821 North Main Street, Sumter,   with  the Reverend Rachael Sinclair,  officiating, eulogist,  the Rev. Michael Sinclair, presiding,   assisted by the Rev. Jerry McCall and Rev. Clarence McCall.  

The family will receive friends at the home of his sister and brother-in-law,  Shirley and Larry Durant,  4047 Ollie Drive, Dalzell.

The funeral procession will leave from the home of his sister and brother-in-law at 3:00 p. m.

Floral bearers and  Pall bearers will be friends of the family.

Interment will be in the Grant Hill Baptist Church Yard Cemetery, Rembert.
