Brother Cedric A. Miller, 28, departed his life on Sunday, April 24, 2011 at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital, Columbia. Born in Sumter County on March 10, 1983, he was the son of James R. Miller and Jewel L. McLeod Miller.
He was educated in the public schools of Sumter County and was a graduate of Crestwood High School, Class of 2002. He was very out going and made many friends over the course of his life.
Cedric was a member of Shubach Deliverance Outreach Ministries in Sumter, under the leadership of Apostle T. La’trell Penny. Cedric loved his pastor, his church, but most of all he loved the Lord. He was an active member of the General Usher Board and Male Usher Board.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his father, James R. Miller; his loving mother, Jewel L. McLeod Miller; one sister, Tanya Wright; four brothers, Toney (Tereasa), Calvin, Dyrell and Todd; two nieces, Sabrina Brisbone and Ayanna Brisbone; one nephew, Nikkia Miller; one brother-in-law, Deven Wright, all of Rembert; a very special friend who was like a brother to him, Scott McRay; three grandmothers, Ruby Mae McLeod, Viola Miller and Bertha Dinkins, all of Rembert; four uncles; seven aunts; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by two uncles, Roosevelt McLeod and Joseph McLeod; one aunt, Linda Dinkins, and his maternal grandfather, Lynburg McLeod.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon, Thursday, April 28, 2011 from the Union Baptist Church, 300 Odom Lane, Wedgefield, with Pastor Travis S. Holmes, pastor, presiding, Dr. T. La’trell Penny, eulogist, assisted by Minister Anthony Glover, Evangelist Vernita Walker, Minister Barbara Jenkins, Minister Lamount Murphy, and Minister Latonya Alston.
The family will receive friends through out the week end at the home of his sister, Tanya Wright 4768 Peach Orchard Road, Rembert.
The funeral procession will leave from the home of his sister at 11:20 a. m.
Floral bearers and Pall bearers will be friends of the family.
Interment will be in the Rafting Creek Baptist Church Yard Cemetery, Rembert.
