Betty Holmes Meminger, 61, widow of Rev. Ivory Meminger, Sr., departed this life on Sunday, July 10, 2011 at The Hospice Center, Mt. Pleasant. Born March 20, 1950 in Lee County, she was the daughter of the late Douglas and Janie Bell Holmes.
She was educated in the public schools of Lee County and was a graduate of Dennis High School. She also attended Morris College, Sumter. Betty led a very spiritual life and accepted Christ at the New Haven United Methodist Church, Bishopville.
Her life was filled with many joyous moments and the prosperous mission of leading lost souls into accepting Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Betty was a very vibrant and out spoken person that lifted spirits every place she sat her feet. She instilled a spirit of peace and joy to each soul that she touched. Betty will be truly missed, but never forgotten.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her four children, Abraham Meminger, Tamarrow Climes, Evory Meminger II and Emmanuel Meminger; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Se was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Ivory Meminger, Sr. and daughter, Faith Meminger.
Funeral service will be held 3:00 p. m., Saturday, July 16, 2011 from The Saint Center, 106 Colson Street, Walterboro, with Rev. Kenny Broughton, officiating, eulogist, assisted by Allen Skinner.
The family will receive friends at the home of her son, Emmanuel Meminger, 2815 Platt Springs Road, West Columbia, 29170.
The funeral procession will leave from the home of her son at 1:30 p. m.
Floral bearers and Pall bearers will be family and friends.
Interment will be in the Heavenly Rest Cemetery, Walterboro.
