Henry Cornelius Littles, 77, departed this earthly life on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at McLeod Hospice Hospital, Florence. Born in Sumter County on December 27, 1931, he was a son of the late James and Rebecca Taylor Littles.
He received his formal education at Voorhees School and Junior College, and Virginia Union University. He served eight years in the Unites States Air Force. He was employed in the field of Commercial Industrial Construction as a Mason.
Survivors to cherish his precious memories include: two daughters, Wanda (Ernest) Green and Trena (William) Harper, both of Sumter; four grandchildren, Auntrez and Shaneequah Pinkney of Columbia, Charles Huggins of Chicago, ILL, and Felicia (Alfred) Walker of Sumter; one sister-in-law, Naomi Littles; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Littles Maree; and four brothers, Ancrum James, Stephen Knophie, Marion Justice and Gordon Eugene Littles.
The family will receive friends at the home of his daughter, Wanda Green, 4453 Reona Avenue, Sumter.
Memorial services will be held 6:00 P. M., Thursday, June 11, 2009 from the John Wesley Williams, Sr. Memorial Chapel, Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter.
In lieu of flowers, donations are to be made to the McLeod Hospices Hospital, 1203 East Cheves Street, Florence.
