Herbert Lee China, 50, departed this earthly life on Sunday, April 15, 2012 at his home. Born in Sumter County on June 23, 1961, he was a son of Marie Dawson China and the late George China, Sr. Herbert attended the public schools of Sumter County, Hillcrest High School, Dalzell.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his lovely mother, Marie Dawson China of Sumter; his siblings, Deloris C. Davis of Dalzell, Delphine C. Bradley, and Sharon Sigler, both of Sumter, George E. China, Jr. and Ricky G. China, both of Rembert, Linda China-Hutchinson (Shaun) of Des Moines, Iowa, Joyce Kinsley of Detroit, MI, Willie Grant of Bridgeport, CT; adopted brothers and sister, Rev. Calvin Earl Peterson and David Colclough of Columbia, and Barbara Allen of Rembert; uncles, Ollie Dawson, Jr. and James Robinson; aunts, Delores Hatcher and Sandra Robinson; ten nieces and nephews, Sondra (Frank) McCauley, Ashantay Prioleau, Shakita China, Warren Davis, Natasha Davis, James Sigler, Justin Sigler, Gregory Sigler, Damien Sigler, Savon Hutchinson, Shayla and Shyleah Hutchinson; a special person he called “Mom”, Catherine Wilson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to his father, George China, Sr., he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Herman Lee China.
Memorial Services will be held 12:00 noon, Saturday, April 21, 2012 from the Canty Memorial Church of God In Christ, Sumter, with Elder Eugene Canty, pastor, the Rev. Calvin Earl Peterson, eulogist, assisted by Rev. Bennie Bradley, and Minister Wanda Martin.
The family will receive friends at the home of his sister, Delphine Bradley, 4160 S. Lake Cherryvale Drive, Sumter.
The procession will leave from the home of his sister at 11:20 a. m.
