Alphonso Bernard Jasper, Jr., 25, departed this life on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at his home in Sumter County. Born in Sumter County on April 9, 1987, he was the son of Alphonso Bernard Young and Patricia Jasper Young, and his adopted father, Johnnie Singleton.
Alphonso, affectionately called “Al” by his family and friends, was known to be very well mannered and a kind hearted young man. He attended the public schools of Sumter County. He spent most of his time cooking, cleaning and spending time with family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory: his father and mother, Alphonso Young and Patricia Jasper Young of Sumter; his adopted father, Johnnie Singleton of Camden; two stepsons, N-Zavion Bratton and Keveonntia Jones of the home; two sisters, Sandreaka Jasper and Alicia Young of Sumter; maternal grandmother, Edna Mae Jasper of Sumter; paternal grandparent, Ellen (Bernard) Johnson; a special companion who he loved dearly, Satara Sharper; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Willie Jasper, Sr.; one aunt, Barbara Jean Grant; and two uncles, Adam and Willie Young.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p. m., Thursday, July 12, 2012 from the John Wesley Williams, Sr. Memorial Chapel, Williams Funeral Home, Inc. 821 North Main Street, Sumter, with the Rev. Robert Young, Jr., officiating, eulogist.
The family will receive friends at his home, 925 Mathis Street, Sumter and 1 Audrena Drive, Sumter.
The funeral procession will leave 1:30 p. m. from 1 Audrena Drive, Sumter.
Floral bearers and Pall bearers will be cousins.
Burial will be in the Good Hope United Methodist Church Yard Cemetery, Highway 261 North, Rembert.
