Argie Louise “Angel” Shivers, 64, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Tuomey Regional Medical Center, Sumter. Born on September 17, 1948 in Daytona Beach, FLA, she was the daughter of the late James Brown and Argie Mae Brown and Richard Shivers of Valdosta, GA.
Angel, as she was affectionately called, gave her life to Christ at an early age at Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Daytona Beach, FL. She was a graduate of Campbell Senior High School in 1966 and attended Bethune Cookman College of Daytona Beach, FL.
Angel was employed at Pilgrim’s after Moving to Sumter in 1998. She recently retired from Pilgrim’s after 14 year of dedicated service.
She leaves to cherish her memory: a loyal and devoted sister of the home, Betty Jane Bryant; her children, Michael Bernard Davis, Sr. of Pembrooke Pines, FL and Michelle (Alonzo) Shivers Muldrow of Columbia; brothers, James Calvin Brown of New York, NY and Anthony (Rosalind) Little of New Symrna Beach, FL; five grandchildren, Michael Bernard Davis, Jr., Avery Michael Davis, Kristen Arnissa Brown-Muldrow, Jordon Michael Davis, and Ashlyn Alexis Muldrow; nieces and nephew, Shundel, Alayna M. and Anthony “AJ” Little, Jr. of Daytona Beach, FLA; an adopted daughter, Kim (John) Crump; a host of uncles, aunts, other relatives and friends, all who will miss her dearly.
Memorial services will be held 1:00 p. m., Monday, January 28, 2013 from the John Wesley Williams, Sr. Memorial Chapel, Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter, with the Rev. Bill Bennett, presiding, eulogist, assisted by Rev. Barbara Johnson.
The family will receive friends at the home 1935 Coral Way, Sumter.
The procession will leave the home at 12:20 p. m.
