Mable Hickman

Mable Hickman, 81, departed this earthly life on Sunday, August 9, 2009 at Tuomey Health Care System, Sumter. Born in Lee County on March 2, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin T. Hickman and Vermell Jackson Hickman.

 

She was educated in the public schools of Sumter County. At an early age, she confessed Christ as her personal Savior and joined the Barnettsville Baptist Church, where she served faithfully.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: two sons, Ira Hickman of Sumter and Benjamin Hickman of Wedgefield. Two brothers, Jessee Hickman of Philadelphia, PA, and Benjamin Franklin Hickman of Washington, DC; two sisters Emily Canty and Anjane Johnson, both of Sumter; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

 

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p. m., Friday, August 14, 2009 from the Barnettsville Baptist Church, 106 Manville-St. Charles Road, Bishopville, with the Rev. Wayne Montgomery, pastor, eulogist.

 

The family will receive friends at the home of her son, Benjamin Hickman 30 Glowood Court, Wedgefield.

The Funeral procession will leave from the home of her son at 1:20 p. m.

Floral bearers and Pall bearers will be family and friends.

Burial will be in the Barnettsville Baptist Church Yard Cemetery.
