Ida Comilla Johnson, 64, departed this life on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 in Philadelphia, PA. Born June 4, 1949, in Sumter County, she was the daughter of the late Roosevelt Prioleau and Nellie and Sheridan Webb.
Ida graduated from Hillcrest High School, Dalzell. She was a member of High Hills A. M. E. Church, where she sang on the Gospel Choir until she relocated to Philadelphia, PA. She was employed for over 22 years by Judy and Lisa Cohen and was later retired by her son.
Ida enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She had a beautiful sense of humor and loved to make everyone laugh by telling the truth in a way that only she could.
Ida’s memories will be cherished by her loving son, Michael (Anna) Johnson; and three grandchildren, Shakira Singletary, Quinn and Emmy Johnson, all of Philadelphia, PA; one great grandchild, Aniya Singletary; her step mother, Martha Prioleau of Dalzell; two brothers, Anthony (Betty) Webb of Summerton, and Joseph (Faye) Prioleau of Oxon Hill, MD; eight sisters, Carol Lee Webb, Barbara Ann (Willie) Webb, and Sandra (Oliver) Webb of Sumter, Mary E. (Ronald) Holloway of Cheverly, MD, Ruby D. Thomas of Oxon Hill, MD, Jana M. (Derrick) Hunter of Waldorf, MD, Sandra P. Prioleau and Brenda L. Land of Dalzell; one sister-in-law, Betty W. Webb of Sumter; eight aunts, Eloise D. Roach, Mary Alice (Stevie) Rivers, Saundra D. Roach, Emma Prioleau, Janie Prioleau, Mary Prioleau, Lou Alice Prioleau, all of Dalzell, and Vermell Edwards of Sumter; two uncles, Willie (Deborah) Dawson and David Roach, both of Dalzell; three devoted friends, Carol Myers, Bernice Fowler, and Tara Jee Beyah; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother; her step-father, Sheridan Webb; her brother, Louis Webb, and two aunts, Ernestine Roach and Vermell Sims.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p. m., Tuesday, December 31, 2013 from the High Hills A. M. E. Church, 6780 Meeting House Road, Dalzell , with the Rev. Thomas Habersham, pastor, eulogist, assisted by the Rev. Ruth Robinson, Rev. Mary Brailsford and Rev. Dr. Ellie W. Palmer.
The family will receive friends and relatives at the home of her sister, Carol Lee Webb, 5670 Shakemia Road, Dalzell.
The Remains will be placed in the church at 1:00 p. m.
The funeral procession will leave from the home of her sister at 1:20 p. m.
Flower bearers will be nieces. Pall bearers will nephews.
Burial will be in the High Hills A. M. E. Church Yard Cemetery, Dalzell.
