Hallie Wheeler

Hallie Wheeler, 81, was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at his home.   Born April 24, 1936, in Lee County,  he was the son of  the late Walter Charles and Louise Wheeler Lee.  Hallie was educated in the public school system of Sumter County. He was employed by the United States Railroad, as well as with the United States Postal Service.

He was united in Holy Matrimony in 1961 to the lat Albertha Spann Wheeler.  This union was blessed with three children.

He leaves to cherish precious memories:  his sons, Anthony Hallie Wheeler of Sumter, Kevin Wheeler and Kenneth Wheeler, both of Jersey City, NJ;  six sisters, Carolyn Cobb of Charlotte, N. C., Venus Lee, Dorothy Charles, Cleola Morgan, Rose Marie Nesbitt and Lill Proctor, all of Jersey City, N. J.;  four brothers-in-law, Ralph Cobb, Walter Charles, Jr., Peter Spann and Isaac Spann;  two daughters-in-law, Elizabeth and Lena Wheeler;  ten grandchildren;  seven great grandchildren, a very special friend, Lorri Wilson of Jersey City, N. J.; as well as  host of  nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p. m., Saturday, April 12, 2014  in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel,  Williams Funeral Home, Inc. 821 North Main Street, Sumter.

The family is receiving friends and relatives at the home,  3266 South Darlington Highway, Sumter.

The funeral procession will leave from the home at 1:20 p. m.

Floral bearers and Pall bearers will be family and friends.

Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Linden.
