Emma Louise McClam Dargan, 59, was called home to rest on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Tuomey Medical Center, Sumter, following an extended illness. Born July 19, 1955, in Lee County, she was the daughter of the late Mitchell and Icybell Brayboy McClam. Emma Louise, affectionately known as “Louise”, was a graduate of Sumter High School, Class of 1974. She was a homemaker and a personal care provider. She was loved by everyone she met. Louise leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Lewis Dargan of the home; one daughter, Audrianna Dargan of Sumter; one son, Darrell (Cindy) Wendell McClam of Sumter; seven grandchildren, Kavon Cobia, Di’keen Dargan, Anthony Pringle, Deandre McClam, Darius McClam, Jalee Tindal, Jylen Tindal, all of Sumter; three sisters, Almae “Nancy” (Herbert) Holmes of Sumter, Ida McClam of Houston, TX, Christine McClam of Sumter; three brothers, Mitchell (Salina) McClam and Johnny (Virginia) McClam, both of Sumter, James McClam of Hillside, N. J.; one uncle, Troy Brayboy of Sumter; three sisters-in-law, Janie (James) Goodman, Gloria (Willie) Cooper, Dianne (Talmadge) Joel James, and two brothers-in-law, James Dargan and Isaac Dargan, Jr., all of Sumter; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Louise was preceded in death by one daughter, Ebonye Sakiea Dargan; her parents, Mitchell and Icybell Brayboy McClam; one sister, Laura Ann McClam; one brother, John Wesley “Newt” McClam; father-in-law, Isaac Dargan, and a sister-in-law, Mary Brooks. Funeral services will be held 3:30 p. m., Wednesday, December 3, 2014 in the John Wesley Williams, Sr. Memorial Chapel, Williams Funeral Home, Inc. 821 North Main Street, Sumter, with the Reverend Jeannette Jenkins, officiating, eulogist, assisted by the Rev. Eugene Dennis, presiding, and the Rev. R. L. Williams. The family is receiving family and friends at the home, 134 Carolina Avenue, Sumter. The procession will leave from the home at 3:00 p. m. Floral bearers and Pall bearers will be family and friends. Burial will be in the Joshua Baptist Church Yard Cemetery, Dalzell.
