Ret. MSGT Reginald W. Moore, 50, departed this earthly life on Sunday, July 5, 2015 at the home of his sister. Born June 12, 1965, in Bridgeport, CT, he was the son of the late Sam Moore, Sr. and Laura Belle Singleton Moore. He attended the public schools of Fairfield, CT and Sumter counties. Reggie, as known by all, graduated from Sumter High School, Class of 1983 and enlisted in the United States Armed Forces Army. During his more than 21 years career, he held several assignments of command, traveled to numerous duty stations and received many awards. At an early age, he became a member of Rafting Creek Baptist Church. He leaves to cherish her memories: his former wife, Eva Davis Moore; their two sons, Dominique Jovan and Joshua Deion Moore of Fayetteville, N. C.; one brother, Sam Moore, Jr. of Greenville; three sisters, Jacqueline R. and Sharon D. Moore of Columbia, and Sandra E. Chandler of Charlotte, N. C.; one niece, Corlyn D. Chandler of Charlotte, N. C.; eight aunts, Janet Grant, Lula Mae Singleton, Bernice Hill, Rev. Lillian Reynolds, Ophelia Spencer, all of Sumter, Cornelia (Jimmy) Collier of Maryland, Susanna Snow and Rebecca More of Bridgeport, CT; two uncles, William Moore, Jr. of Rembert and James Morant of Newport News, VA; a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held 12:00 noon, Saturday, July 11, 2015 from the Rafting Creek Baptist Church, 3860 Highway 261 North, Rembert, with the Rev. Melvin Mack, pastor, presiding, the Rev. Burdell Hill, pastor of Emancipation Baptist Church, St. Matthews, eulogist, assisted by the Rev. Lillian Reynolds, Minister Carol Sanders and Rev. John F. Kennedy. The family will receive relatives and friends at the home of his sister, Jacqueline Moore, 316 Downs Drive, Columbia. The Remain will be placed in the church at 11:00 a. m. The procession will leave from 279 North Brand Street, Sumter at 11:20 a. m. Interment will be 11:00 a. m., Monday, July 13, 2015 in the Fort Jackson National Cemetery, Columbia.
