Charlton Ezekiel Smith III, 25, affectionately known as “CJ”, was born February 8, 1995 to Johnny Mae Holmes-Lesesne and the late Charlton Ezekiel Smith, Jr. in Hartsville. He departed his earthly life on Monday, February 10, 2020 in Lynchburg. He was well known for wittiness, his smile, his friendliness and most definitely his drumming and singing for which he had a passion for. He was like a son to several mothers, and a brother, to many friends. Those left to cherish his memories are: his mother and step-father, Johnny Mae Holmes (Taiwan) Lesesne; his spiritual father, Apostle Phillip O. Coleman; his companion, Cheronika Vines; four biological children, Kaelyn, Kaedyn, Omari and Kimari Smith; two step-children, Xa’Nai Vines and Jah’Cure Harris; his brother and sister, Min. Domier Holmes and Brianna Smith; his step-grandfather, Roosevelt “Hoover” Ingram; four uncles; one aunt; an extended family of other aunts and uncles; and a host of cousins and friends. The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home, 1117 West Wood Drive, Manning. Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 22, 2020 – 6 p. m. at Mulberry Baptist Church, 1400 Mulberry Church Road, Sumter.
