Janice Marie McLane, 60, departed this earthly life on June 25, 2020 at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital, Sumter. “Ree”, as she was affectionately known, was born on March 10, 1960 and was the daughter of Shirley Mayrant McLane of Horatio and the late John McLane, Sr. She attended the public schools of Sumter County and was a graduate of Hill Crest High School, Class of 1979. At an early age, she joined High Hills A. M. E. Church. She leaves to cherish her memories: one sister, Gloria R. (Earl) Jenkins of Dalzell; two brothers, Edward (Donna) McLane of Columbia and John Perry of Sumter; one sister-in-law, Linda Davis-McLane of Sumter; five nephews, DaJone (Antionette) McLane of Houston, TX, Earl Jenkins, Jr. of Charlotte, NC, Malik McLane of Spartanburg, Jonedrick McLane and Antonnial Davis of Sumter; two nieces, Natalie McKelvie of Sumter and Dr. Sarah Berry of Atlanta, GA; along with a host of other relatives and special friends. Due to the Covid 19 guidelines the family is requesting no visitation at the home. Graveside Services will be held 10 a. m., Tuesday, June 30, 2020 from the High Hills A. M. E. Church Cemetery, 6780 Meeting House Road, Dalzell, with the Reverend Keith Mays, Sr., pastor, eulogist.
