Vera Hickman Moore, 85, widow of the late Dock Moore, was born on March 10, 1935 to the late Vermell Davis and Johnny Hickman. She departed this life on August 19, 2020 after battling a long term illness. She was a member of St. Mark Baptist Church until her health failed and she could no longer attend. She leaves to cherish fond memories: three daughters, Min. Dorethar (William) Wheeler of Mayesville, Lauraine (Mickey) Reid of Sumter, SSG Regina (Dewayne) Dease of Sumter; twelve sons, Mills Moore of Thonatassa FlA, Willie Moore of Sumter, Leroy Moore of Rock Hill, Jimmie Lee Moore of Fort Pierce, FLA, Edward Moore of Sumter, Carnell (Dr. Nancy) Moore of Tampa, FLA, Jamana Eugene Moore of Sumter, Larry Rock of Columbia, Darry Rock of Sumter and Ernest Rock of FLA; one brother, Willie (Minnie) Hickman; one great uncle, Jimmy Hickman of Gainesville, FLA; thirty nine grandchildren; fifty three great-great children;; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home, 585 Lower Lee School Road, Mayesville. Due to the COVID 19 guideline, please wear a mask. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p. m., Saturday, August 22, 2020 at St. Mark Baptist Church, 510 Manville – Wisacky Road, Bishopville, with Pastor Yancy Martin, officiating. The Procession will leave from the home at 2:00 p. m.
