Marie Dawson-China, 83, the daughter of the late Ollie Dawson and Alta Mae Rembert, was born in Rembert on June 6, 1937. She took her earthly flight on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at her residence. She attended the public schools in Sumter County. At an early age she joined the Hopewell Baptist Church. Later, she joined the Grant Hill Baptist Church, Dalzell. Marie was a faithful member until her health failed. Her occupation was caregiver for several individuals in the community. She leaves to cherish her memories: four daughters, Delores C. Davis and Delphine C. Bradley, both of Sumter, Sharon (Willie) Sigler and Linda China-Hutchinson (Shawn) of Des Moines, Iowa; two sons, George E. China, Jr. and Ricky G. China, both of Dalzell; two brothers, James Ollie Dawson, Jr. of North Carolina, James Robinson of Marion; two sisters, Rev. Deloris Hatcher and Mrs. Sandra Robinson of Marion; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; a special son-in-law, Raymond Bradley; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In accordance with COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during all home visitation at 4160 South Lake Cherryvale Drive, Sumter. Graveside services will be held 1:00 p. m., Monday, November 9, 2020 at Hopewell Baptist Church Yard Cemetery. 3285 Peach Orchard Road, Dalzell. The procession will leave from the home at 12:30 p. m.
