Mattie Lee Robinson was born on June 23, 1942 in Sumter to the late George Rembert, Sr. and Rebecca Brailsford Rembert. Mattie departed this life on August 29, 2021 at her residence in New York, N. Y. Mattie was educated in the public schools of Sumter County. On September 10, 1960, she relocated to New York, N. Y. She leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter, Donna L. Robinson of New York, N. Y. and a host of other relatives and friends. Mattie was preceded in death by her son, Harry E. Robinson. In accord with the COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting no visitation at the home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a. m., Saturday, September 18, 2021 in the John Wesley Williams, Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter, with Parker Margaret Parker, Eulogist. MASK WILL BE REQUIRED. The procession will leave from the home at 10:30 a. m., Burial will be in the Joshua Baptist Church Yard Cemetery, 5200 Live Oak Road, Sumter.
