Geraldine Deloris Harris Weathers, 67, daughter of the late Frank and Fannie Mae Stavis Harris, was born on October 17, 1951 in Rembert. Her earthly journey came to an end on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at her home surrounded by family and loved ones. She was educated in the public schools of Sumter County. In 1970, she received her High School diploma from Ebenezer High School. Geraldine professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined Greater Mount Pisgah Baptist Church, where she was a loyal and faithful member for 26 years. She dutifully served in many capacities including: the Missionary Society, Pastor’s Aide, Hospitality Ministry and Culinary Ministry. Geraldine’s passion was taking care of people and she did so for 27 years as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Until her health started to fail she was employed with Believe in Faith Home Care for three years. She also worked for National Health Care, Lake Marion, Mariner & Martin’s Run. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children, one daughter, Latanya Weathers of Wilmington, DE; two sons, Robert (Yolanda) Weathers, Jr. and Jerry (Nicole) Weathers, both of Sumter; three sisters, Ethel (Simon) Major and Elizabeth English, both of Sumter, Carolyn Ritter of Brooklyn, NY; two brothers, Frankie Harris of Washington, DC and John Harris of Rembert; her grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home, 6300 Dinkins Mill Road, Rembert. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 21, 2019, 11 a. m. from the Greater Mount Pisgah Baptist Church, 515 North Main Street, Sumter, with Bishop Marvin Hodge, Sr., pastor, eulogist. The Remains will be placed in the church at 10 a. m. The funeral procession will leave the home at 10:20 a. m. Burial will be in the Greater Mount Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery, Rembert.
