Ellen Diane Crim, affectionately known as ‘Muffy”, was born on September 15, 1960 to the late Ransom Young, Sr. and Fannie Robertson Young in Rembert. She departed this life Thursday, July 9, 2020 at Prisma Health Richland Hospital, Columbia. Ellen received her education in the public schools of Sumter County and was a 1980 graduate of Hillcrest High School, Dalzell. Ellen professed faith at an early age, was baptized and became a member of Rafting Creek Baptist Church. She met, courted and married the love of her life, Eddie Crim in the summer of 1982. Ellen was known for her take charge demeanor when it came to her family. She was employed at First Baptist Day Care, Camden for sixteen years. Ellen leaves to cherish her memories: her husband of 38 years, Eddie Crim; her sons, Felix, Jayden and Tielyn of the home; five sisters, Iola Robertson of Charlotte, NC, Rebecca Young, Yvonne Y. Crim (Robert), Yvette Young and Krystle Wade, all of Rembert; three brothers, Willie Robertson of Charlotte, N. C., Rocky Young of Rembert and William Robertson (Loraine) of Sumter; seven aunts, Martha K. Young of Rembert, Mamie Robertson, Lula Mae McNeely, Brenda Robinson, Hazelyn Robertson, Rosa Crim and Vivian Robertson, all of Charlotte, N. C.; one uncle, Hampton Robertson of Huntersville, N. C.; a host of favorite nieces and nephews, special cousins and co-workers, other relatives and friends. Due to the COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting no visitation at the home. Graveside services will be held 10:30 a. m., Tuesday, July 14, 2020 in the Rafting Creek Baptist Church Yard Cemetery, 3860 Highway 261 North, Rembert, with the Rev. Melvin Mack, pastor, officiating, eulogist. Procession will leave at 10 a. m. from 7445 Saxton Road, Rembert.
