Raynard Otis Mack, 59, affectionately known as “Pookie”, departed this earthly life on Friday, September 3, 2021, at his home. He was the sixth child of seven children born to the late Leon and Rebecca Prince Mack. He was educated in the public schools of Sumter County and a graduate of Sumter High School, Class of 1982. He was formerly employed with Santee Print for a number of years and was an employee of Hengst Filtration in Camden. Pookie’s early knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, was instilled at home and nurtured at Cedar Grove Baptist Church, where he formerly attended. Pookie leaves to cherish fond memories: his brothers, John (Elaine) Mack, Isiah Mack, and Bruce (Cheryl) Mack; one uncle, Raymond (Brenda) Mack, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In accordance with the COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitation at the home, 1665 London Road, Sumter. Graveside services will be held 10:00 a. m., Saturday, September 11, 2021 at St. Paul A. M. E. Church Cemetery, Highway 378, Sumter with Rev. Deirdre Howard, Eulogist. The procession will leave the home at 9:20 a. m.
