Eugene Lorenzo Nedd, affectionately known as “Boo” was born in Sumter, on August 27, 1976, to Ruth Holloman Nedd and the late Eugene Timothy Nedd. He departed this life on Sunday, May 29, 2022, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital. He was a graduate of Sumter High School and Central Carolina Technical College. At an early age he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior and was baptized at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed reading the Bible and was known to steal away to meditate and pray. Eugene was employed for many years at Shaw Air Force Base working various jobs. He had a heart of gold and was always willing to help others. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends. One of his favorite pastimes was enjoying good meals with his family and friends cooking on the grill. He was a protective big brother to his siblings whom he affectionately called Gina and Coby. He was also a proud uncle to his nieces and nephew. Eugene leaves to mourn his passing and cherish precious memories: his mother, Ruth Holloman Nedd; brother, Jacoby Nedd of Sumter; sister, Rugena Nedd of Monroe, Louisiana; four aunts, Jessie Nedd of Washington, DC, Julia Holloman of Sumter, Marie Polite of New Jersey and Mary Gas of Philadelphia, PA; one uncle, Warren Nedd of Lynchburg; two nieces, Shyann Nedd and Debrae Nedd; one nephew, Micah Christian Oliver; a special cousin, Harry C. Lesane (who was like a brother) and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends. In accordance with the COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitations from 4:00 – 8:00 p. m. at the home, 1020 Porter Street, Sumter. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a. m., Saturday, June 4, 2022 in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter. The procession will leave the home at 10:30 a. m. Burial will be in the Mayesville Community Cemetery, Highway 154, Mayesville.
