John Henry Chisolm, Sr., was born on April 18, 1957, at Kershaw County Memorial Hospital to the late Isaac Chisolm, Sr. and Alean (Gary) Chisolm in Camden, South Carolina. He was raised in a Christian home and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He graduated from Camden High School in 1965 and immediately began working at Standard Warehouse as a forklift driver where he worked until 1992. Beautiful inside and out, John enjoyed living life to the fullest and had a wonderful sense of humor. He treasured his family and friends and would give you the shirt off of his back. John was affectionately called “Henny” by many of his family and friends. He was preceded in death by one sister, Adell James. He leaves to cherish his loving memory: his mother, Alean (Gary) Chisolm; one brother, Isaac Chisolm, Jr. of Camden, SC; two sisters, May (Larry) Jones, and Wanda Holmes-Outten of Camden, SC; two children, John Henry Chisolm, Jr. and Shameaka Nicole Chisolm of Atlanta, GA; ten grandchildren, Shaolin, Sha’Riya, Shamauri, Shamiya, Shacole, ShaRod, Caleb, Johnya, Cameron and Jonas; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins of whom he showed much love to on a daily basis. Graveside services will be held Monday, July 25, 2022 – 12:00 noon. at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church Yard Cemetery, 9250 Camden Highway, Rembert, with the Rev. Freddie Thomas, Pastor, the Rev. Warren Bolton, Eulogist.
