God’s faithful servant Jean B. Richardson was born January 31, 1943 to the late Joseph and Elsa Richardson in San Fernando Trinidad, West Indies. She departed this earthly life on Tuesday morning, September 6, 2022 at Blue Ridge Nursing Home, Sumter. Jean was educated in the public schools of Trinidad and Tobago, where she participated in numerous extra curricular activities: Track and Field and Home Economics. In her community she was very active in Cub Scott of Trinidad and Tobago and was the leader for many years. Jean migrated to New York and then to Anchorage, Alaska, where she lived for 34 years. She became a member of the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church where her Christian journey flourished as she became enveloped in the teachings, leadership and love of Pastor Patterson and the church family. Jean was employed by Alaska Regional Hospital for 30 years working in the culinary Department where she enjoyed planning and preparing meals for patients and their families or helping where ever she was needed. In 2011, when her health started failing she moved to Sumter, South Carolina to be with her brother and sister-in-law. Jean continued her Christian journey and joined the Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church family. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Mickey O. Richardson of Florida; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brothers, Harris (Merlin) Richardson of Sumter, Amsby (Janet) Richardson of Trinidad and Tobago; sisters, Ruth of Florida, Patsy (Rawle) Clarke of Alaska, Judith (Hollis) Gittens and Pamela of Trinidad and Tobago, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In accordance with the COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitations at the home, 425 East Emerald Lake Drive, Sumter. Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, September 13, 2022 in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter, with Pastor Marion H. Newton, Senior Pastor of Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church, Eulogist. The procession will leave from the home at 11:30 a. m.
