Barbara Ann Jackson was born in Sumter, South Carolina on February 24, 1951. She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Jackson and mother, Edith Jackson. She leaves to mourn in death, her faithful and loving family, her sisters, Mattie Alston (Thomas Alston deceased), of Stratford, CT, Martha Myers (Rev. Sr. Robert Myers) of Harvey, LA,; her brothers, Harold Lee Jackson (Judith) of Sumter, S. C., William Jackson of Bridgeport, CT and her niece that was raised as a sister, Denise Jenkins (Rev. Alvin E. Jenkins) of Augusta, GA, and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She loved her family and always had a smile on her face. She would give hugs and lay her head on you. Because her family loved her so much we knew how to comfort her when she needed that special love. In accord with the COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitation at the home, 5 Valley Brook Court, Sumter. Funeral services will be Friday, February 3, 2023, 2:00 p. m., at St. Luke A. M. E. Church, 2355 North St. Paul Church Road, Sumter, with the Rev. Alvin E. Webb, pastor, Eulogist. The Remains will be placed in the church at 1:00 p. m. for viewing until time of services. The funeral procession will leave the home at a 1:30 p. m. Burial will follow in the St. Luke A. M. E. Church Yard Cemetery.
