On Friday, February 10, 2023, Mrs. Hettie B. Cooke departed from this life at her home. She was born in Lee County on July 28, 1951 to the late Inettle and Hattie M. Boykin. She was educated in the Lee County Public School System and worked at Reeves Brother. She also worked for Lee County Public School System as a school bus driver until she retirement. She was a soft spoken but a well - respected woman of God. She was always giving of herself to others. She got married to the love of her life, Isaac “Cookeman” Cooke on June 7, 1975 until her God called her home. She leaves to cherish her memories: her loving husband, Isaac Cooke; her loving and devoted children, Kitina Cooke, Knekeia Cooke, Richard Cooke and Kneshia (Michael) Milford; five grandchildren, Isaiah Cooke, Xavier Craft Jr., Zabrianna Craft, Josiah Nelson, Nylah Joe; four great-grandchildren, Layla Cooke, Ava Craft, Ari Craft, Zy’Bria Wilson; one brother, Allen (Dorothy) Boykin; two sisters, Shirley Stephens and Diane Boykin, and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and friends. In accordance with the COVID-19 guidelines the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitation at the home, 241 Lightwood Knot Road, Dalzell. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 – 12:00 noon at New Haven United Methodist Church, 3159 Red Hill Road, Bishopville, with the Rev. Angela Nesbitt Hampton, pastor, Eulogist. The Remains will be placed in the church at 11:00 a. m. for viewing until time of services. The procession will leave the home at 11:30 a. m. Burial will be in the New Haven United Methodist Church Yard Cemetery.
