Titus Henry Butler, affectionately known as “Candy”, was born on January 3, 1943 in Sumter County to the late Harrison Butler, Sr. and Mary Robinson Butler. He departed this heavenly earth on Tuesday morning, May 2, 2023 at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital in Sumter. He received his education in the public schools of Sumter County and was a graduate of Ebenezer High School, Dalzell. Titus retired from ECB construction after many years of dedicated work. He loved being outdoors and working with his hands. He was a lifelong member of the Bethel AME Church in Wedgefield. Everlasting memories will be cherished by his wife, Carrie of the home; his children, Tyrone Butler of Wedgefield, James Butler of the home, Felicia Butler of Sumter and Lorenzo Butler of Orlando, FL; his siblings, Harrison (Evelyn) Butler III and Roosevelt (Judy) Butler; one brother-in-law, Louis Bory Jacobs Sr.; two grandchildren, Michael Jennette and Carrie Ann Woodberry and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. In accordance with the COVID-19 guidelines the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitation at the home of his daughter, 4190 Patriot Parkway, Wedgefield. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p. m., Monday, May 8, 2023 at Bethel A. M. E. Church, 1605 South Kings Highway, Wedgefield, with the Rev. Larry D. Clark, Sr., Pastor, Eulogist, Rev. Eric R. Dent, presiding. The procession will leave the home at 1:20 p. m. Burial will follow in the Bethel A. M. E. Church Yard Cemetery.
