Janie E. Prioleau Russell Jeffreys was born on July 26, 1954 to the late Samuel Prioleau and Janie Davis Prioleau. She departed this earthly life on May 22, 2023 in Baltimore, Maryland surrounded by her loving family. She was a 1972 graduate of Hillcrest High School, Dalzell. After graduating from high school, she moved to Baltimore, Maryland, where she resided for 51 years. She was employed at Montgomery Ward for 20 years until her health failed and she could no longer work. In 2017, she was united in holy matrimony to Maurice “Casino” Jeffreys and was a loving wife and best friend for over 20 years. She leaves to mourn her memories: her husband; one son, Johnny (D’Mika) Russell, Jr.; one daughter, Datavia Russell; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; five sisters, Minnie (Roger) Curtis, Mary Parker, Ethel (Ozie) Pearson, Margie (Issac) Bolden and Angela Curtis; eight brothers, William Prayleau, Rodney Prioleau, Micheal (Joanne) Prioleau, Earl (Evonne) Davis, Herbert Davis, Gregory Prioleau, Rickey (Patricia) Prioleau and Dennis Prioleau; one god sister, Sandra Blanding; three aunts, Alice and Martha Prioleau and Marie J. Davis; three lifelong best friends; eight brothers-in-law; four sisters-in law; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and all of whom she loved dearly. In accordance with the COVID-19 guidelines the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitation at the home, 5545 Shakemia Road, Dalzell. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a. m., Saturday, May 27, 2023 at High Hills A. M. E. Church, 6780 Meeting House Road, Dalzell, with the Rev. Phillip Washington, Pastor, Eulogist. The Remains will be placed in the church at 10:00 a. m. for viewing until time of services. The procession will leave the home at 10:30 a. m. Burial will in the High Hills A. M. E. Church Yard Cemetery.
