Ruby Mae McLeod departed this early life on Monday, June 12, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones at her home. She was born January 28, 1936 to the late Willie Dinkins and Pearl Hollimon. She was the widow of the late Lynburgh McLeod. She was educated in the public schools of Sumter County. She accepted Christ and became a member of Mt. Sinai where she served on the choir and Mother Board. Later, she moved her membership to Refuge Temple Church and served on the Mother Board. Ruby was a homemaker and wife. She served her church and community faithfully. She leaves to cherish her memories: her siblings, Joseph Dinkins of Alaska, Anthony (Kathy) Dinkins of Lugoff, Willie (Cynthia) Dinkins, Frierson Dinkins, Rose Grant, Pearl (Willie) Armstrong, Parolyn (Mareese) Brown, Ann Heyward, Emma (Steve) Dinkins-Jackson, Richmond Dinkins, all of Washington, DC; Mary (John) Sanders, Nancy (Steve) Dinkins, Amaziah Diggs, all of Rembert; children, Odessa Hunter, Lynburgh McLeod, Jasper (Sandra) McLeod, Jewel Miller, all of Rembert, Lethia McLeod and Ruby (Michael) Richardson of Columbia; son-in-law, Wallace Dinkins of Rembert; step mother, Mattie Bertha Dinkins of Rembert; thirty grandchildren; thirty seven great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren, along with a host of other family and friends. She was preceded in death by two siblings, Sidney Dinkins and Herbert Dinkins, and three children, Joseph McLeod, Lindy Dinkins and Roosevelt McLeod. In accordance with the COVID-19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitation at the home, 5620 Family Lane, Rembert. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 17, 2023 – 1:00 p. m. at Refuge Temple Of Our Lord Jesus Christ Of The Apostolic Faith Inc., 4450 Argent Court, Columbia, with Bishop Sylvester K. Reid, Pastor. The Remains will be placed in the church at 12:00 Noon for viewing until time of services. The procession will leave the home at 12:15 p. m. Burial will be in the Mt. Sinai Holiness Church Cemetery, Rembert.
