Louis Dixon, son of Annie Mae Hunter Dixon and the late Roosevelt Dixon, was born December 27, 1962 in Lee County, South Carolina. He departed this earthly life on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at his residence. He was educated in the public schools of Lee County. Louis was a graduate of Bishopville High School. After graduation, he worked at Reeves Brothers, Georgia Pacific and DuPont. Louis was a member of Mechanicsville United Methodist Church, Sumter. He leaves to cherish his precious memories: a loving and devoted wife, Ethel McCauley Dixon of the home; four children, LaTangela Chiquita (Kuriandra Renee) Atkinson, Lewis Lavar Dixon, Raheem Cooley, Tiece Dixon; siblings, Ronetta (Ronald) McKenzie of Sumter, Rosanna Dixon of Bishopville, Janet Mack of New Jersey; mother-in-law, Shirley McCauley of Sumter; two grandchildren; one great grandchild; three sisters-in-law, Beulah (Eric) Bradley, Shryl (Leroy) Wactor, Maxine McCauley and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one sister, Frances Marie D. Richardson and one brother, Stanion Dixon. In accordance with the COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitation at the home, 2788 Rembert Church Road, Dalzell. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p. m., Monday, August 14, 2023 in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter, with the Rev. Dr. Herbert Temoney, Presiding Elder of the Santee District, Eulogist and the Rev. Samuel Andre Temoney, pastor of Quinn Chapel AME Church, Presiding. The Funeral procession will leave the home at 1:15 p. m. Burial will be in the Colclough Cemetery, Dubose Siding Road, Sumter.
