Geneva Singleton Jackson, daughter of the late Israel Singleton and Amelia Isaac Singleton, was born April 10, 1926 in Sumter. Nig”, as she was affectionately called, departed this earthly life to be with our Heavenly father on September 22, 2023. She was a member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church USA until her health failed where she served in numerous capacities. She was a homemaker, gardener and her favorite hobby was quilt making. She was employed with Hampton Nursing Center for over 22 years. Geneva was a kind, gentle person of good spirit, always wanted to give to others, or help someone in need. She loved to read her Holy Bible and listen to Mahalia Jackson. She found immense pleasure in cooking, knowing that others would enjoy her meals, including her much loved sweet potato pies. Gevena was married to the late Isaac C. Jackson (Cush) for 76 years. She loved her family dearly and will certainly be missed. To cherish her memories, she leaves behind one daughter, Alma Jackson Harrison of the home; three grandchildren; four great granddaughters; two sister, Amelia Prescott of Ocala, FLA and Elizabeth Martin of Austin, TX; one daughter-in-law, Celestine C. Jackson; one sister-in-law, Laura Singleton, both of Sumter; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who are deeply grieved by her passing. In accordance with the COVID-19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitations at the home, 690 Rainbow Road, Sumter. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p. m., Tuesday, September 26, 2023 –at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, USA, 4620 Queen Chapel Road, Dalzell, with Rev. Carnell Hampton, Moderator, Eulogist. The Funeral procession will leave the home at 1:30 p. m. The Remains will be placed in the church at 1:00 P. M. for viewing until time of services. Burial will be in the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church Yard Cemetery.
