On Monday, October 9, 2023, at Christ The King Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, Luther Marion Julius departed this life to be with the Lord. He was born on December 30, 1956 in Lee County, to the late Dewey Julius, Sr. and Louise Stuckey Julius. He entered into covenant with Mt. Olive A. M. E. Church, Woodrow, at an early age. Luther received his education from Ashwood Central High School, Bishopville, graduating with the Class of 1975. Upon graduation, he left South Carolina to reside in New Jersey. After working several odds jobs along with his brothers, Luther found employment with Regional Recycling in Newark, NJ. He was employed there for 10 plus years. Luther later moved to Atlanta, GA, then to Columbus, Ohio, where he was the manager for the meat department at Kroger Groceries until retirement. Luther leaves to cherish his fond memories: one son, Tracy Julius (Laquisha) of Charlotte, NC; one sister, Rosa “Brenda” Julius Royal (Larry) of East Brunswick, NJ; two brothers, Thomas Julius (Lucy) of Irvington, NJ and Jerome Julius of Newark, NJ; three grandchildren Tavien, Tyler and Lauren Julius of Charlotte, NC; two special children that he help raised, LeRoyna Wilson and LoveMia Edwards of Columbus, Ohio; one special grandson, Davyion Edwards of Columbus, Ohio, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.. In accordance with the COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting no visitation at the home, Wake services will be 4:00 – 6:00 p. m., Friday in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter. Funeral services will be held 3:30 p. m., Saturday, October 21, 2023 in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 81 North Main Street, Sumter, with the Rev. Dr. J. Elbert Williams, officiating, Rev. James Cabbagestalk, Eulogist. The Funeral procession will leave the home at 3:00 p. m.
