Ellen Generette, daughter of the late W. Eugene McGill and Nover Lee Mouzon McGill, was born June 27, 1955 in Sumter. She transitioned to her new home on October 27, 2023. She received her schooling in the public schools of Sumter County and graduated from Maywood High School, Class of 1973. She was accepted at DeVry Institute of Atlanta, Georgia, where she studied briefly. She leaves to cherish her memories: her only grandson, Carzelle Generette of Rembert, S. C.; two sisters, Mary M. Durant (Larry Jr.) of Lynchburg, S. C., Fannie Bell Williams of Laurelton, N. Y.; one brother, Dea. Wiley Barkley McGill (Reita) of Lynchburg, S. C.; one aunt, Edith McGill Ceasar of Washington, DC; three uncles, John Mozon (Belinda) of Florence, S. C., Frankie Mozon, Elbert Wilder (Gail) of Salisbury, N. C., Charles McGill (Rev. Calpertia) of Polk City, Fla; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In accordance with the COVID-19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitations at the home, 633 C C Road, Lynchburg. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a. m. Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church, 418 Main Street, Lynchburg, with Rev. Dr. Sammie D. Simmons, Pastor, Eulogist, assisted by the Rev. Jerome Sumter, presiding. Wake services will be 4:00 – 6:00 p. m., Friday, November 3, 2023 in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter. The Remains will be placed in the church at 10:00 a. m. for viewing until time of services. Burial will be in the Bethesda Memorial Gardens, Lynchburg.
