Marie Jefferson, daughter of the late Estell Keith was born September 1, 1927 in Sumter County. Marie was called by God to take her final rest on October 24, 2023 in New City, New York. She accepted Christ at an early age. She was a member of New Beginning Out Reach Ministry. She attended the public schools of Sumter County. Marie leaves to cherish her precious memories: one daughter, Marjorie Keith of New City, New York; five brothers, Charlie Keith of Sumter, S. C., Isaac Jefferson (Katrina) of Hinesville, GA, James Edward Jefferson (Edna) of Dallas, TX, Abraham Jefferson (Elma); a brother-in-law, Willie Taylor of Sumter, S. C.; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Abraham Jefferson, three daughters, Gloria Ann Jefferson, Daisy Belle Taylor and Ruby Keith Little, and two sons, Raymond Jefferson and James Earnest Jefferson. In accordance with the COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitation at the home, 7080 Peach Orchard Road, Dalzell. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p. m., Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at New Beginning Out Reach Ministry, 4660 Thomas Sumter Highway, Dalzell, with the Rev. Ricky Mickens, Pastor, Eulogist. The Remains will be placed in the church at 12:00 noon for viewing until time of the services. The Funeral procession will leave the home at 12:45 p. m. Burial will be in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Peach Orchard Road, Dalzell.
